Return to Second Wisconsin Home Page George Doire George V. Doire, Jr., 56, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Manor Care, Appleton. He was born on Feb. 2, 1950, in Central Falls, Rhode Island; son of George and Lillian (Lanoue) Doire, Sr. On Feb. 24, 1973, in Smithville, Rhode Island, George was married to Carolyn Hope Evers. George served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Roger Williams University, Bristol, RI, with a Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and a B.S. in Business Admin. with a minor in Computer Science. He was then accepted into the Graduate Degree program at Bryant College, Smithfield, RI. George and Carolyn moved to Appleton from Rhode Island in May of 1989. He worked as a Project Engineer for Georgia-Pacific in Green Bay. He was a member of the Appleton Church of Christ and the American Legion Post #38, Appleton. George was an avid Civil War reenactor; he enjoyed reading and deep-sea fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. George is survived by his wife, Carolyn H. Doire, Appleton; his son, George V. (Julie) Doire, III, Neenah; his daughter, Bethany Doire, Appleton; his grandchildren, Tyler and Kaelyn Doire and Isaiah Aeby; his sisters, Louise (Gordon) Yaghjian, Bradenton, FL and Donnamarie (James) Falk, Appleton; his brother, Roland (Terry Lee) Doire, Palmetto, FL; his nieces and nephews, Tara-Lyn (Rob) O'Connell, Jennifer (Eric) Gray, Jessica (Jason) Delvaux, Joanna Falk and James, Nelson and Travis Doire; and by his grand-niece, Lilly Anne O'Connell. Funeral services for George were held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah, with Whit Sasser officiating. Interment took take place in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in his name. George's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staffs of Manor Care, Appleton Medical Center Outpatient Clinic and Oncology Dept., ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Martha Seikman Cancer Center and to Dr. William Guenther and his staff. |
