Sauk City Civil War Event

Infantry dress is Iron Brigade, Antietam campaign.

Directions:

Please see attached map. The event is in Derleth Park, adjacent to the River.

Go to Sauk City (take Highway 12, cross the Wisconsin River and follow the signs). Turn right (coming from Madison). If you come to the railroad tracks, you have gone too far.

The event is adjacent to the Wisconsin River at Water Street and Hemlock Street in the Sauk City Historic Park.

Re-enactor parking is at Hemlock Street and Jefferson Street.

The event is sponsored by the Sauk City Historic Preservation Commission.

The schedule is:

Saturday, Oct. 1
9 a.m.: camps open to the public
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: artillery and infanty drills
1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: artillery demonstration
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: skirmish on the battlefields
4 p.m.: camps close to the public

Sunday, Oct. 2
8 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Belle Boyd memorial service at Wisconsin Dells
11:30 a.m.: camps open to the public
1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: artillery demonstrations
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: infantry dills/skirmish
3:30 p.m.: Break camp
