The theory of victimization views the impact of criminality on those who survive tragic

incidents. For Mike’s brothers-in-arms this was no theory for we saw those results in a

person we knew and shared with during his participation in the Second Wisconsin.

Primarily, Mike was a skirmisher, but he lost his direction after the accident. After a

divorce and a downward spiral Mike seems to have been coming to grips with his life.

He may even have been ready to join his comrades on the firing line once again.

Mike’s heart attack ended the hopes of the future for him.
