Sam C. Miles
Sam C. Miles was in Co. E, 8th Wisconsin Infantry. On enlistment he was 21 years old, a farmer  and single. He was enlisted 8/16/61 at Fitchburg by Capt. Young. He had blue eyes, light hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 9" tall. In Sept. of '61 he was mustered into U.S. service at Madison by Maj. Brooks. He lived in Springdale, Dane. Co. Captured September 14, '62 he was returned to his company in Feb. '63.  He mustered out Sept. 16, 1864, term expired.
